OUR PROGRAMS
Make An Impact
All of our programs are uniquely designed for the participants we have the privilege to work with. They address and advance racial justice in a variety of critical ways:
Gain an understanding of the construction of the mythology of whiteness and its complicity in U.S. settler-colonialism - including genocide, land theft and slavery.
Practice how to move through our learned white fragility (which prevents us from truly engaging on race).
Reflect on our progress & blindspots, and learn to accept feedback so we may repeat all of the above .
Study Groups
Interrogating Whiteness partners with many kinds of community groups to design and implement a course suited to their needs. The course includes readings, discussion guides, self-reflection prompts, and evaluations. Based on the particular group and identified needs, our team works with you to develop a calendar and timeline alongside appropriate content. All groups run for 16 weeks and meet virtually every other week.
Examples of study groups include book clubs, parent/family organizations, and neighborhood groups.
Professional Development
Interrogating whiteness is a critical part of racial justice initiatives in the workplace; and, then, examples of professional development groups include businesses, organizations, and current whit affinity and/or caucus groups. Often, companies and organizations report being ‘stuck’ making progress on DEI goals and lament their Board and senior management teams have not changed over time. Interrogating Whiteness offers a needed lens through which these initiatives can be advanced. All groups run for 16 weeks and meet virtually every other week.
Examples of professional development groups include small or corporate businesses and organizations.
Individual Study
Our individual study acts as a precursor to our group settings for those who want to establish a foundation of knowledge before engaging with others on the topic. Interrogating Whiteness works with you to develop a pre-work course of study that suits your identified needs and schedule.
